RESIFLEX 200

JET FUEL RESISTANT SEALANT

RESIFLEX 200 is a cold applied two-part elastomeric pourable sealant for joints in concrete paved areas, designed as easy to use and economical sealant. It is capable of accommodating above average and severe climatic conditions, will not harden in cold weather nor become excessively soft or pick up in hot conditions, as well as possessing resistance to jet fuels, jet blast, oil, hydraulic fluid and a wide range of chemicals. RESIFLEX 200 reduce maintenance costs because of its' long service life.
* Permanently high elasticity
* Performs well over a broad temperature range
* Low maintenance cost
* Jet fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid and wide variety of solution resistance
* Self leveling, cold applied and easy to use
* Excellent adhesion to common surfaces even pitch based substrates
* Suitable for re-sealing joints previously sealed with pitch based hot poured sealants

USES
RESIFLEX 200
is used in horizontal joints such as:
* Motorways
* Runways, parking bays and garages at airports
* Flooring and connection joints for over
ground fuel storage depots and loading bays for fuel and oil
* Car parks and underground garages

DESCRIPTION
RESIFLEX 200
is a very economical, cold applied, two-component elastomeric sealant for sealing expansion joints in concrete paved areas, under all climatic conditions. The greatest demands upon pavement joint sealants are the result of joint movement caused by diurnal and seasonal temperature changes. This movement rarely evenly distributed between the joints provided and although the designed joint sealing dimensions and spacing may be within the theoretical capacity of certain sealing materials, in practice this is substantially exceeded in a significant number of joints. The elastic rubber-like nature of RESIFLEX 200 provides the extra capacity to accommodate these erratic movements with far less risk of failure. These properties are retained throughout extremes of climatic temperatures, unlike conventional hot-poured thermo-plastic pavement sealants that become less flexible at lower temperatures, when joints open to their maximum. Sealing with RESIFLEX 200 provides a greater level of sealing efficiency over a much longer period, reducing maintenance costs and the interruption of services.

JOINT CONFIGURATION
The expansion joint width is normally designed by the width of expansion joint filler. RESIFLEX 200 will accommodate large continual cyclic movement. However, for optimum performance joints should be designed to 25 % of material elasticity. RESIFLEX 200 should be sealed 5 - 8 mm. below the concrete pavement surface dependent on time of the year and application temperature. The width/depth ratio of the RESIFLEX 200 should be 1:1 to 1.5:1 subject to a minimum 10 mm. depth of sealant.

APPLICATION
1. All joints should be completely dry and free from all traces of dirt, dust, grease, any previous sealants and other foreign matter. Cleaning may be carried out by grinding, sawing or water jetting, depending on new or resealing applications.
2. Following preparation, place into the base of the joint a bond breaker tape or back-up cord to form the correct cross section for the joint sealant and to prevent the sealant bonding to the base of the joint.
3. After cleaning, the joint faces should be primed with the appropriate RESIPRIMER No: 2 care being taken to ensure complete coverage. After priming allow half an hour for the solvent to evaporate. If the application of RESIFLEX 200 is delayed for more than two hours after priming, joints should be re-primed.
4. Stir the contents of Part B and add the entire contents to Part A and stir for a full five minutes, preferably using a slow speed electric drill (400-500 rpm.) with anchor type stirrer, until a completely homogeneous mix is obtained. Care must be taken to ensure thorough mixing of the contents at the bottom and sides of the container if the compound is to cure fully.

STORAGE
The storage life is approximately 1 year and the material should be used before the date stamped on the container.
