ARALDITE® EPOXYGROUT L

NON-SHRINK EPOXY RESIN GROUT

USES
Free flowing non-shrink grout for gap filling and load bearing applications where mechanical properties of the hardened grout must be of the highest order. Ideal for bridge bearings crane rails, base plates of high-speed turbines, centrifuges and other operating equipment subject to heavy dynamic or mobile loads

SPECIAL FEATURES
* SOLVENT FREE
* NON - SHRINK
* EASY TO USE
* RAPID HARDENING
* SELF BONDING
* LOW CREEP
* HIGH STRENGTH
* CHEMICAL RESISTANT
* FOR GAPS OF 5-50 mm.

DESCRIPTION
A three-component resin grout based on Araldite epoxy resin. The three components are supplied in pre-weighed quantities ready for on site mixing. When mixed the fluid grout can be poured into gaps as small as 5 mm. and as large as 50 mm. without segregation of aggregates or bleeding of the resins.

THERMAL PROPERTIES
Grouting may be carried out at ambient temperatures between 6s C and 30fi C. The cured grout is completely resistant to frost and extreme sub-zero temperatures. Continuous exposure to load at temperatures above 40s C should be avoided. Huntsman should be contacted for advice prior to specification if higher temperatures are anticipated

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
PREPARATION

New concrete or cementitious substrates should be at least 28 days old when moisture content of the surface should be below 5 %.
All laitence and loose material must be removed from the concrete surface. If the concrete is strong and sound with light laitence this can be achieved with acid etching followed by thorough washing with water. The floor must then be left to dry. Cracked or damaged concrete or heavy laitence should be prepared by grit blasting or scrabbling until a solid surface is reached showing exposed aggregate.
All dust and debris should then be removed.
Surfaces contaminated with oil or grease should be flame cleaned or thoroughly washed with a good detergent then rinsed and dried. All steel surfaces should be blasted free of stell rust or flaked mill scale. If delay is likely before placing steel bed plates then the underside and edges should be coated with PRIMER 011 to protect further rust formation. Set up formwork as necessary. Ensure that all joints are tight, especially at the interface between walls and substrate. Loss of grout during placing may lead to voids at joint.
For free flow conditions it is essential to provide a hydrostatic head of grout. Normally 150 mm. is sufficient but more may be necessary for narrow gaps or extended flow application .

MIXING
Mechanical mixing of resin based materials is preferred whenever possible. In order to avoid trapping air in the material, mixers running at less than 400 rpm are recommended.

PLACING
Araldite Epoxygrout L is supplied pre-weighed packs in exact proportion. No other materials should be added.
STIR CONTENTS OF EACH TIN THOROUGHLY
Pour the entire contents of the hardener into the resin and mix until uniform. Slowly add the graded filler until fully blended.
The mixed grout should then be poured into the formwork from one side only. Do not use a vibrator.
Maintain the hydrostatic head at all times during the pour. If more than one pack is to be used then mixing should be planned to ensure pouring is
continuous.
If very large pours are planned then areas should be broken down avoid large exotherms. This will depend on the surface area to volume ratio. Please
contact your local Huntsman office for assistance.
For very narrow gaps some of the filler may be left out.
